Clearing a fault code removes the warning light but does nothing about the underlying fault. A full diagnostic scan reads live sensor data, fault history, and ECU module information to identify what has actually failed — which is the only way to carry out a repair that lasts.
In many cases, yes. If the fault is a sensor, pump, or injector failure we can repair on-site, we'll carry out the work during the same visit once we've explained the findings and agreed the repair. More complex issues may require a follow-up visit or parts to be ordered.
It means there is an underlying component or software fault that a top-up won't fix. The warning returning shortly after filling the tank is a clear sign something in the system has failed and needs to be properly diagnosed and repaired.
Most diagnostic visits take between 45 minutes and an hour and a half, depending on the vehicle and the complexity of the fault. We'll give you a better estimate once we know your make and model.
